I don't know the Meiji name, but I have been an Olympus fan for many years
and presently own four of their scopes--two compound research scopes with
Nomarski and two topflight dissecting scopes.

Olympus are also much less expensive than the "Caddilacs" and "Lincolns" of
the field, but as far as I can tell are optically and mechanically on a par
with them.

The cost of my four Olympus scopes probably would have purchase one high
end research compound scope from Nikon, Leitz, et al.
