I think many if not most Chinese taxonomists do include an abstract in
another language, at least in journal articles.  Many of the Chinese
acarological papers I'm familiar with include an English translation of the
species descriptions.  This has not been true of larger, monographic works
on the Chinese fauna which I presume are published more for the benefit of
native Chinese readers.
