Calculating distance from lat/long data

There are resources on the web that do this, and many other things...
Here is a relevant section from "Martindale's The Reference Desk"
<http://www-sci.lib.uci.edu/HSG/Ref.html> (which has many many links to
sites that do things like wyat you're asking about, and more):
http://www-sci.lib.uci.edu/HSG/RefCalculators1A.html#HAM-DIST
The first one listed there seems appropriate:
http://www.best.com/~williams/gccalc.htm
They also have a compilation of a plethora of kinds of calculators available
here:
http://www-sci.lib.uci.edu/HSG/RefCalculators.html
They also have many links to language resources (dictionaries, translators,
etc.):
http://www-sci.lib.uci.edu/HSG/Language.html
I don't think I've even scratched the surface of all they have at their
site, but it's a start...
Cheers,
Dave
