Dr. Duane Atwood (atwood at museum.byu.edu <mailto:atwood at museum.byu.edu> ) has
asked me to post the following message to TAXACOM.


Brigham Young University and The Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum are
pleased to announce that the Herbarium of Brigham Young University will be
formally named The Stanley L. Welsh Herbarium.

A gala event is planned to honor Dr. Welsh in recognition of his years of
professional work in building and caring for the BYU Herbarium.

You and your partner are cordially invited to attend this event on March 21,
2000, at the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum on the Brigham Young
University Campus.

There will be an open house all day on 21 March in the Stanley L. Welsh
Herbarium.  A public reception begins at 7pm, and the formal program
recognizing and featuring Dr. Welsh as a speaker begins at 8pm.

Please contribute to a scrapbook of memories to be given to Dr. Welsh at the
reception.  Your written greetings, field experiences, anecdotal memories,
or other interactions with Dr. Welsh are all welcome.  Please forward your
