The Passing Away of another Giant

Colleagues:

In case this notice has not yet been sent to this list, I inform you that
Dr. Warren "Herb" Wagner passed away on Saturday evening, 8 January 2000.
Florence, his widow, told me this morning that he had taken ill on Monday
and been admitted to hospital.  Congestive Heart failure leading to
complications were apparently the cause.

Another giant of the botanical world has gone.
