my protest

A while ago I protested the setup of Taxacom, which prevents me (using
Eudora) from replying to the list with the "reply" function. Instead I
have to create a new message and paste in the Taxacom address.
I was told by the list manager that this was to prevent private messages
for posters from going to the whole list. (Of course, it now causes
messages intended for the list to go only to the sender of the last
message.) If I didn't like this setup, I could reconfigure my own mail
program to reply direct to Taxacom.
The catch is that nearly every other list I use (in fact, EVERY other list)
has its reply function organized correctly. If I change to suit the odd
way Taxacom is configured, then I have to use the clumsy procedure to reply
to all the other lists!
Do any of the rest of you see this as a problem, and if so, might we all
ask that our convenience should bear weight against the occasional careless
lapse that sends a private message out to the list?
