It is certainly not an unusual price. On my job I regularly use the
Chapman & Hall Natural Products CDROM database. The price: about $5,000
PLUS $2,000 yearly for updates. I guess this database is the equivalent
of somewhat more than 16,000 pages, but certainly not the tenfold of
that.
