Dear Peter,

    You already got several answers to your _Pieris_ problem. Let me add
some details. Since 15 years, I'm completing a work on both zoological
and botanical codes, with explanations of peculiarities, differences,
common points, etc., illustrated with a lot of examples. It has now some
500 Din A4 pages... The 5th chapter deals with the independence of
both codes. I shall not publish the text here, but only the index: the list
is evidently all but exhaustive, but it wants to demonstrate that the
classical example _Oenanthe_ almost always cited is far from being
exceptional. In my list, you'll recognize the botanical taxa because the
dates are in parenthesis. Some names are not latin taxons/taxa or don't
appear doubly, because they are cited in the text for other reasons - and
really I have no time, now, to cancell them from the list.
    I hope you will be convinced that _Pieris_ is not an exception.
    By the way, I never found, up to now, a **binome** common to
both Reigns (There is no _Pieris japonica_ among the butterflies...). Does
anyone know, by chance?...
