Regarding misidentified fossils, my colleague John Wenzel came across a
fossil - forgive me, but I cannot recall what exactly it had been described
as - that turned out to be the associated mass of cocoons from a paper wasp
nest, still packed in their hexagonal array. Someone else here may know the
reference, I confess I've lost track of it myself (sorry, John).
