90,000 Mollusks on Internet

                         MORE MOLLUSKS ON INTERNET

Records for about 90,000 lots of Recent mollusks at the Academy
of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia are now searchable via gopher
at erato.acnatsci.org.  About 20 percent of the collection and
about 30 percent of the type specimens have been computerized.
For type material all locality data and comments are included.
For non-type material locality only to the level of state or
county is included, but most lots have additional data, including
latitude and longitude.

Also available at erato.acnatsci.org are the Academy's
invertebrate paleontology collections and Malacolog 2.0, a
database of Recent Western Atlantic gastropods species.
