Hi all: I've heard from a bunch of Windows and Mac users, and the consensus is that the hyperlink in blue directly below this message works for just about everybody. (Thanks to Craig Wisniewski for creating this hyperlink!) (Please let me know if it doesn't work for you, and we will trouble shoot together.) Again, I can't emphasize enough how careful a person has to be if you choose to type in the address. If you can copy and paste it, that certainly is the better option versus typing it in. Clicking on it seems to be the best option, though. However, new teachers won't be able to click on it, unless you send it to them in an email. Perhaps you can do that for all the teachers attending a workshop? (Just brainstorming here! If you have other ideas, please let us all know!) In case you missed my original message, I've pasted it below. Jean

My original message:
Hi All- At LONG last, I finally got the Persuasive & Argumentative Materials download revised!! (Phew!) It took weeks of solid work, but I think it is readable by Windows computers (as well as Macs). Additionally, all the references in MLA style have been updated to the new MLA style requirements. The link is http://www.edgeenterprisesinc.com/files/Persuasive_Argumentative_Writing_files.zip Just copy and paste this link into your browser, and the file should be immediately downloaded onto your computer. Look in your downloads file for it. I need someone with a Windows computer to test this out. Can you download it? Can you open the files?
Please let me know. Once I hear that this works for Windows users, I will begin work on revising the Informative and Narrative materials. Those materials are still available with the links I've given in the corresponding manual for Mac users.

By the way, the link that was printed in the Persuasive and Argumentative manual is not correct in several places, so if you are giving a workshop on this program, please be sure to give the link I've listed above as the correct link to your workshop participants. Please caution them to CAREFULLY type in the address, including the caps, periods, and the underlines. It's very easy to make a mistake. Thanks for your patience on this effort! Thanks too for all your work. I know that you all are saving children's lives every day, and I appreciate your efforts. Jean

P.S. For those of you who do not know what I'm talking about: Each of the advanced theme writing books has literally hundreds of pages of materials that teachers can download onto their computers and use while teaching students. This is a new thing that I am trying instead of trying to publish hundreds of pages in book form. I am referring in this email to the materials that I created to go with the Proficiency in Theme Writing: Persuasive and Argumentative Writing manual. Please let me know what you think of this idea. J
