Hello Colleagues,
I realize that not everyone uses Facebook to acquire information. We use our SIM Facebook page to post information several times a day, and if you do not want to be a FB subscriber, the good news is that you don't have to be, you can just hang onto our link and read or acquire anything you find useful. I hope you will!
Here are four stories I posted this week. Check our page out to see if something is useful to you! https://www.facebook.com/KUCRL.SIM/
Virtual charter schools tend to draw students who struggle with performance, according to a study from New York University and the Rand Corp. Researchers say part of this struggle is due to poor support and suggest a federal study aimed at rethinking the framework for these schools. http://www.usatoday.com/.../researchers-virtual-cha.../98007714/<http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2017/02/16/researchers-virtual-charter-schools/98007714/>
The Federal Disability website is still down. http://www.seattlepi.com/local/politics/article/The-disability-website-Still-down-and-still-no-10939087.php
Individuals with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder may have different brain structures than those without ADHD, according to a study published in the Lancet Psychiatry. The study included 3,242 people, ages 4 to 63. http://www.seattlepi.com/local/politics/article/The-disability-website-Still-down-and-still-no-10939087.php
Teachers who are satisfied professionally and collaborate in professional learning communities are better at their jobs, which can translate into improved student achievement, according to a recent study published in the American Journal of Education. The study considered the reading and math achievement of 5,850 elementary students. http://www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/full/10.1086/689932#.WKc0lHH5sT0.facebook
