Hello,
I hope everyone is well. As you are aware, we have remarkable instructors in the political science department, and many of you have adopted very innovative teaching methods in the classroom. While discussing our teaching approaches with colleagues in our offices and in the hall ways is fun and productive, I think we can learn even more from each other by sharing our innovative teaching methods with colleagues and graduate students in a series of talks on teaching. I propose we have one or two talks in the POLS conference room per semester. We will have a faculty member share their new approaches and methods and we can discuss these innovations over lunch. The department will supply the food (Pizza and/or sandwiches).
The first talk will be by our Undergraduate Director, Professor Kevin Mullinix. The title is “Creative Demonstrations and Alternative Approaches to Assignments.” The talk will be on Friday, April 12th from noon to 1:00. This is open to faculty and graduate students.
I hope see you at the the POLS T&T.
Take Care,
John
