[Pols-l] Faculty Meeting Friday March 1 at 11:00 am

We will have a faculty meeting on Friday, March 1st at 11:00 am in the POLS meeting room.  The main agenda item for the meeting is to vote on changing Hannah’s current position from 50% (.5 FTE) POLS to 100% (1 FTE).  Currently Hannah’s appointment is split between POLS and WGSS, but she has made a request to be 100% POLS. There are several reasons for this change including the challenges of balancing an increasing workload (teaching and service) between the two departments, and her desire to focus her attention on POLS with regards to research, teaching and service.  I have talked with Hannah about this change and I am completely supportive of changing her position to 100%.  That is, I fully support Hannah’s request to be in POLS 100%.



The college has a process (specific policy) regarding this request.  First, Hannah makes the request to the department chair and then a formal request to the College with an endorsement from the department chair. I fully endorse Hannah’s request. The last step is a department vote. So, we will vote on the motion to change Hannah’s POLS position from 50% (.5 FTE) to 100% (1 FTE).
