Dear Faculty and Instructors,



To comply with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditor obligations, KU must verify educational credentials (highest degree completed) for all faculty/instructors ahead of our HLC Comprehensive Review in Spring 2025.



In preparation for the verification process, we want to share the following information.



  *   All faculty and instructors are required to go through a credential verification process.  This is a requirement of employment.

  *   You will receive an email from HireRight the week of September 18, 2023 if KU does not have a record of your credentials (official transcript or equivalent for highest degree) or an educational background check has never been conducted during the hire process.
     *   KU HRM will provide HireRight with faculty/instructor names and KU email addresses.
     *   HireRight will contact you directly using your KU email and provide a personalized log in to a secured site. Attached is an example of the email you will receive (HireRight Education Check Submission.pdf).
     *   Your unique HireRight login is valid through October 20th. Please respond timely to avoid difficulties.
     *   Using the personalized link, you will use the login for the HireRight system and provide:
        *   Name
        *   Address
        *   DOB
        *   SSN
        *   Name of institution where highest degree was conferred.
        *   Enrollment dates
        *   Consent for the check
     *   Your information will be verified by HireRight and provided securely and confidentially to KU HRM where it will become part of your employee record.

Be sure to look in your junk folder to ensure that the email wasn’t routed there. If you don’t find an email from HireRight, contact Office of Faculty Affairs at facultyaffairs at ku.edu<mailto:facultyaffairs at ku.edu> to see if your credentials are on file.



What is the deadline to respond to the email?

The deadline is Friday, October 20th, 2023.
