Hello,

Below is a message from Ben Eggleston from the College regarding a new University Assessment of Student Learning Committee.

Take Care,

John

Dear colleagues,

Summary: I am looking for one faculty member to volunteer for service on a new committee. The job comes with $1,500 in extra salary.

Jen Roberts, Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies, is establishing the inaugural edition of the Assessment of Student Learning Committee. This committee is charged with scoring learning artifacts for institutional learning goals. Training for the committee will take place this semester and the scoring will commence next semester. All participants will receive a $1,500 overload payment, and Jen also provided the following estimate of the workload:

“Fall 2021 - 2-4 hours of training workshop.

January 2022 - artifact assignments are given. 3-4 weeks to complete and submit scoring. I can’t really tell how long this will take (and will vary by individual) but I think it will be similar to P&T and Sabbatical.

March 2022 - 2-4 hour meeting to go over data and craft feedback to campus.

The ultimate workload is going to be dependent on statistically how many artifacts need to be scored. We have 10 committee members as a way to defray the workload.”

If you are available to serve, please let me know, and I will let Jen know. I would especially appreciate being able to have the committee member selected by Monday, November 8.

Best,

Ben
