Dear College chairs and directors,



I am writing in regard to this fall’s sabbatical-application process. As indicated at the web page linked below, the deadline for you to submit your faculty members’ sabbatical applications, accompanied by departmental evaluations, is 12 noon on Tuesday, September 8.



At this time, if you have not already done so, you may wish to notify the faculty members in your department of your departmental deadline for them to turn in their completed applications to you or your departmental evaluation committee. Some factors to consider in setting your departmental deadline are mentioned in step 1 of the information posted at the web page linked below.

Information about the process for applying for sabbatical leaves this fall (for leaves to be taken during the 2021–22 academic year) is now posted at http://collegedean.ku.edu/sabbatical-leave. Department chairs are advised to note item 1 of that information, concerning the setting of departmental deadlines for the submission of their faculty members’ sabbatical applications for departmental evaluation prior to submission to the Dean’s Office.
