Hello,

My name is Chiquita Jackson and I am the president of KU Black Pre-law Student Association (BPLSA). We are hosting our "Our Freedom Can't Wait"  Museum showcase. At this event, we will narrate key episodes of Black Culture in America; slavery, post-slavery, civil rights movement, black panther movement, the creation of hip-hop, and the Yes, we can/BLM. The authentic presence of the actors portraying historic figures provokes thoughtful debate and serves as a catalyst for awareness of the struggles that African Americans continue to endure to-date.

Moreover, I am reaching out to see if you all within your different departments would like to contribute your knowledge and resources to help make this event successful. We are currently looking for students, faculty, and staff to sign up for the open positions we have available. The time commitments will be February 7th and 15th from 5pm-7pm for walkthrough and dress rehearsal. The actual event will take place on February 22nd 5-7pm at the Spencer Museum of Art. We the BPLSA would truly appreciate the support and involvement from students, in addition to faculty and staff. I have attached the flyer and sign-up sheet as well.

Lastly, if interested in being a sponsor of this event, please let me know. Also, I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
