Mark's suggestion looks good.
On a separate note, right now there's effort to create graduate
certificate in quantitative methods. Its not finalized now, but 4
courses among selection of departments.
I think one idea to bring up is to have Data Science as a PhD area, and
then push harder to train PhDs who can get jobs in industry as data
scientists. That's working with the psych and soc students I've helped
get jobs. All of those people make more $ than professors, by margin.
There's a COGA initiative on non-academic jobs, if I'm in a position to
help with this I will
