My dear colleague and friends,
This week is my last official week at KU. Although, I have been gone for nearly three years, my resignation letter submitted this spring makes my departure official.
My experiences at KU wouldn't have been the same without my senior colleagues' support and trust in me as a scholar, teacher, and administrator. I have learned so much from my junior colleagues and graduate students who opened doors to new research projects, teaching tricks, and more. 
My family and I have settled in colorful Virginia, a few miles away from DC. I have made a successful transition to working for the Department of Defense's National Defense University, where I engage with the top civilian and military leadership responsible for the design and implementation of U.S. foreign policies and strategies. This has been a very rewarding experience - I can experience first hand the multi-faceted aspects of policies that I previously approached as a researcher. I continue my active research program, but I have supplemented it with more policy engagements and teaching.
