Holli and Gary,

I am coordinating the Vision Zero Safety Action Plan Steering Committee 
and hoping to secure a representative from the Lawrence Association of 
Neighborhoods to serve on the committee. You may have heard from my 
predecessor Paul Hornbeck in the past.  I sent the below email last 
night, but my coworker Cece Riley suggested I include the two of you as 
well. Please let me know if you have any questions about the Vision Zero 
Safety Action Plan and the process that the Lawrence-Douglas County

Lawrence Association of Neighborhoods,

My name is Stephen Mason, and I am a Transportation Planner for the 
Lawrence-Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). My 
predecessor, Paul Hornbeck, reached out about the Vision Zero Safety 
Action Plan Steering Committee last year. We will be starting steering 
committee meetings within the next few weeks but do not have a confirmed 
representative from the Lawrence Association of Neighborhoods. *Does 
someone from your organization have an interest/ability to serve in this 
role?*Please let me know and feel free to share this invitation with 
members of your organization who you feel may be interested.

To provide some additional information, A Vision Zero Safety Action Plan 
establishes a roadmap for how a community can eliminate traffic deaths 
and serious injuries on its streets. The steering committee will help 
guide the plan’s development and review stakeholder input. *We 
anticipate the steering committee will meet four to six times between 
March and November for 1 to 2 hours each during the evening*.
