[Electronic-LAN] December LAN Meeting invitation

Dear LAN Listserv members,
Please join us for the December meeting of the Lawrence Association of 
Neighborhoods (LAN)*. *This meeting will feature a presentation by Cori 
Wallace, Director of Communications & Community Relations, City of 
Lawrence, regarding the return of See, Click, Fix, and Millie Pageau, 
Communications and Community Engagement Specialist, regarding current 
status of the Pallet Village and other  programs for the unhoused in 
Lawrence.

    *Wednesday evening, December 20, 2023 at 6:30 PM*
    *Lawrence Fire Station #5, Jayhawk Room*

The agenda is attached.**The Executive Committee encourages all LAN 
members to attend this meeting. In addition to the presentations we will 
be voting on a bylaw amendment (see below), and electing officers for 
2024. *If you are unable to attend, please email **the neighborhood 
association you represent and **your vote, yes or no, to the proposed 
bylaw amendment to Holli Joyce, LAN Chair, at holliajoyce at yahoo.com.*

*Proposed Bylaw Amendment. *
Amending the LAN Bylaws requires 2/3 of the voting membership, which 
would be 12 of the 18 voting members:

*Amendment 1: Change Section 2.1a from*

    a. One (1) representative member chosen by each affiliated
    neighborhood association (voting).
    An affiliated neighborhood association is any valid, organized,
    extant, and active Lawrence neighborhood association that has paid
    organizational dues for either the current or the previous year.

*To*

    a. One (1) representative member chosen by each affiliated
    neighborhood association (voting).
    An affiliated neighborhood association is any valid, organized,
    extant, and active Lawrence neighborhood association that has paid
    organizational dues for the current year.

*Amendment 2: Change section 2.1b from*

    b. One (1) representative member chosen by each affiliated
    interested organization (voting).
    An affiliated interested organization is any extant organization
    that has been accepted for membership by the voting members of the
    Association and has paid organizational dues for either the current
    or the previous year.

*To*

    b. One (1) representative member chosen by each affiliated
    interested organization (voting).
    An affiliated interested organization is any extant organization
    that has been accepted for membership by the voting members of the
    Association and has paid organizational dues for the current year.
