Let's not forget that this Kansas Day is also the 33rd anniversary of the founding of LAN. 
Nearly 1/3 of a century is impressive for any community organization. 
Many folks past and present deserve credit for this extraordinary accomplishment. Thanks!
Those who remember the caustic Lawrence politics and hostile relations with city staff at the time of our founding should appreciate to what we have evolved.
In short, our community went from confrontation as default to problem solving and information sharing. 
LAN has helped make Lawrence more livable.
