Jayhawk Audubon Society Program - Monday May 20th
May 20, 2019 - 7:00 p.m. - Free to the public

*NEW LOCATION FOR JAS PROGRAMS:*
Baker Wetlands Discovery Center, 1365 N. 1250 Rd, Lawrence KS

The Jayhawk Audubon Society’s May 20th program will feature Richard Mabion,
founder of Building A Sustainable Earth Community, an environmental
literacy organization and a direct affiliate of Clean Air Now. His
presentation, titled "Diesel Emissions & the BNSF Railroad in KCK
Neighborhoods” will feature their work to protect community health by
identifying and documenting environmental and health related problems
caused by freight transportation (a.k.a. goods movement) in the Kansas
City, KS region. Diesel exhaust, and other pollutants emitted by goods
movement, warehousing, and related activities are a persistent, significant
source of health problems in the area.

Mr. Mabion was Man of the Year in 2016 for the EPA Region VII Environmental
Justice Department and has been President of the KCK NAACP since 2014.

Please join the Jayhawk Audubon Society on Monday May 20th at their new
location for this timely topic as the Clean Air Act is under attack.

BYO Dinner with Richard Mabion - 5:00 p.m.

HuHot, 2525 Iowa St., Lawrence, KS
