Downtown Master Plan DIY Workshop Kits now available
Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Workshop Kits are now available for interested community groups to complete as part of the community outreach and engagement portion of the Downtown Master Plan. The kits are an alternative method of participation for those who cannot attend one of the community engagement workshops scheduled for early June.

DIY Workshop Kits will include the same questions and discussion format/prompts as the community engagement workshops. The City of Lawrence is offering the kits to help ensure all voices are heard during the plan development process.

DIY Workshop Kits include step-by-step instructions so volunteer moderators can simulate the format of the community engagement workshops. Interested groups can check out DIY Workshop Kits starting today in either a printed or PDF format. Printed kits can be picked up from the Planning & Development Department at:

     City Hall Riverfront
     1 Riverfront Plaza, Suite 320
     Lawrence, KS 66044

PDF versions of DIY Workshop Kits can be requested via email. Contact downtownplan at lawrenceks.org<mailto:downtownplan at lawrenceks.org> to receive a downloadable copy. Those who request a PDF version will be responsible for printing the pages as well as providing writing utensils for their group.

Completed DIY Workshop Kits must be returned to the Planning and Development Department by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 28 to be included in the analysis of community input.

In addition to participation in either a DIY workshop or a community engagement workshop, everyone interested in the future of Downtown Lawrence is encouraged to share their input via online surveys, with versions available for adults, youth and business owners, as well as map.social, an interactive online mapping tool that allows them to make their own map of Downtown Lawrence.
