[Electronic-lan] City Commission work session on short term rentals TOMORROW, Nov 14th

Dear Everyone,

Having received a spectrum of comments from neighborhoods, LAN has been
concerned about the effects of short-term rentals (Airbnb) on
neighborhoods. See attached LAN's letter to the city. Those with comments
for Lawrence City Commission are encouraged to speak at the work session
Tuesday, November 14th at 5:45 at City Hall.

The Commission will not vote on any policy at the work session. It is an
informational meeting for The Commission however it is the best opportunity
for them to hear your concerns.

There are a few things to know for those who are unfamiliar with City
Commission study sessions. There is a short period of regular commission
business at the beginning of the meeting. Although there is a period of
GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENT during that time, it is important to reserve your
comments pertaining to short-term rentals until AFTER the staff
presentation on short-term rentals. Lawrence City Commission has also
instituted a 3 minute time limit for comments. You may request 5 minutes if
you represent an organization. See the meeting procedure brochure attached
below.

It is very important for Lawrence City Commission to hear from neighbors
and neighborhoods.
