Hello Lawrence Neighborhoods,
This is a reminder about the Solid Waste Division’s Fall Electronic
Recycling Event next Saturday, October 15th from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Our
division hosts two of these events per year, one in the spring and the
other in the fall, and we welcome residents and small businesses to

Why recycle your unused or obsolete electronic waste at our event?
Electronic equipment may contain hazardous components such as lead, mercury
and cadmium. Recycling your unwanted electronic equipment keeps these
hazardous components out of the landfill.
Rain or Shine Event
DATE: Saturday, October 15th
TIME: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
LOCATION: KU Park & Ride East Lot, Clinton Pkwy & Crestline Dr
Electronic recycling at this event will be provided by MRC - Certified
Electronics Recyclers <https://www.facebook.com/midwrc/>
Items accepted for recycling:
Computers*
Monitors
Printers
Copiers
Scanners
Fax Machines
Televisions*
Video and Audio Equipment
Cell Phones and other Hand Held Devices
Microwaves and other Small Appliances
* Recycling fee (Cash or Checks ONLY):
$10.00 per CRT computer monitor
$20.00 per CRT television 26 inches and under
$40.00 per CRT television 27 inches and over
$50.00 per rear projection/console TV
no charge for other electronics
Items NOT accepted:
Large Appliances (Refrigerators, AC Units, Dehumidifiers),
Hazardous Waste (Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors, Fluorescent Light
Bulbs, Compressed Gas Cylinders), VHS tapes and CDs.
Contact the Waste Reduction and Recycling Office at 832-3030 to schedule a
drop-off appointment at the City of Lawrence/Douglas County Household
Hazardous Waste Facility.
