[Taxacom] word for only species in the genus

Hi Fred,
The word "singleton" is sometimes used for an only child. And in mathematics, singleton means "a set consisting of one given element." So the word singleton could perhaps be used for the only species in a genus. However, I believe that a singleton species can also mean a species based on just one specimen. https://www.dictionary.com/browse/singleton
