[Taxacom] Species Cite: linking scientific names to publications and taxonomists

I’ve released a web site called “Species-Cite” https://species-cite.herokuapp.com which is my latest attempt to make visible the links between taxonomic names and the publications that make those names available. The ultimate goal is to have every scientific name linked to a full bibliographic citation, which ideally would also be linked to an external identifier and the actual publication (e.g. a PDF). There are examples of this on the web site. The data underlying this site come from several taxonomic name databases (ION, IPNI, Index Fungorum, Nomenclator Zoologicus), together with Wikidata, and various projects I’ve been working on to link names to publications.

Very much a work in progress with huge gaps, but I hope its coverage will increase over time, particularly as more and more of the taxonomic literature is catalogued in Wikidata.
