Dear colleagues,

For anyone interested in such aspects of evolution who do not already have
a copy of Heads' (2017) Biogeography and Evolution in NZ" book, I can
provide a scan of his chapter on "Structural Evolution and Ecology". The
introduction notes that "Traditional theory has developed specific ideas on
the interpretation of space, time, and form in evolution based on centers
of the origin, dispersal, and adaptation, and so it has been termed the
CODA model (Lomolino and Brown, 2009). There are many problems with the
approach, and an alternative is described in this chapter. One of the main
questions in biology as a whole concerns the fundamental cause of
morphological evolution, and recent work shows that this is more
problematic than was thought."

If interested, please send me a request for a copy and I will be happy to
provide that.
