Dear Taxacomers,
I note that in Zhang et al.'s 2011 "Animal Biodiversity" compilation, in
the paper on Lepidoptera by van Nieukerken et al., the group of unassigned
fossil Lepidoptera is listed as containing 6 named genera plus a further 6
(?) genera as listed in:
" "homoneurous" (or probably homoneurous) lepidopteran genera not certainly
placed to family (taxa listed in Table 13.1 [1, 3-6] of Grimaldi & Engel "
This is a reference to Grimaldi & Engel's large volume "Evolution of the
Insects" of which I formerly had a copy on my institution shelf, now
unfortunately no longer the case...
In order to see what the relevant genus names are, I need access to at
least the start of Table 13.1 ("Significant Lepidopteran Fossils", on p.
559 it seems) in that work. If anyone would be able to send me a scan of
the table in question (or at least the relevant portion of the same), it
would be much appreciated. The work is available on Google Books, but p.
559 is not accessible via that route.
Thanks in advance - Tony
