[Taxacom] Platypus - Windows taxon-based relational database (Not the monotreme!)

I have been using Platypus which is described as "a comprehensive, Windows-based, relational database package for taxon-based work" from the Australian Biological Resources Study (ABRS), for keeping faunal lists for Sri Lanka. The Platypus version running on my Windows 7 laptop Version 3.3, 18 Sep 2002, and with Windows now insisting that I abandon my old computer I am looking for a modern supported alternative to Platypus into which Platypus data can be imported.
 I understand the Australian Faunal Directory was done on Platypus, so perhaps someone involved in that project or linked to ABRS might to have suggestions. Any help would be appreciated.
