Hi all,
Australia is just the latest major outbreak of forest fires in the world. Fires in Brazil, California, and Europe have had a lot of news coverage during 2019, but somewhat less so for those in Indonesia and Siberia. The amount of CO2 being released is alarming, not to mention habitat destruction.

Subject: [Taxacom] Kangaroo Island center of endemism up in smoke
Although not quite all of it - yet. Link below regarding this important,
although not so well know, biogeographic center of endemism. This might be
a harbinger of the future where species survival is restricted to small
areas that can just disappear with the flick of a match - especially in
Australia if this climate change continues along the present course and the
government is unwilling to recognize realities.
