[Taxacom] Guess numbers of new taxa described per year?

When I'm asked (during tours, or conversation with interested laymen), 
the figure I toss out is "At least 5000 new species a year". I expect 
that may be an underestimate, but unless the real number is over 10K 
then I'm happy to use a number like that. ;-)
