To all users and custodians of natural history collections:

Thanks to those of you who have filled in one or both of the questionnaires about the effect on digitisation on physical loans from and physical visits to natural history collections.
The survey runs until the end of this month, so if you are a user and/or a custodian of one or more natural history collections and have not yet filled in the questionnaire(s), there is still time...

This is what I wrote on October 10th:
As part of the SYNTHESYS project (www.synthesys.info<http://www.synthesys.info>) an analysis is being made of the extent to which digitisation reduces the need for physical access and physical loans of specimens in natural history collections.
Some institutions have already made quantitative analyses of the effect, but in order to get as broad a view as possible the Natural History Museum of Copenhagen, on behalf of SYNTHESYS, is conducting a survey among custodians and users of natural history collections.
If you are a user of natural history collections and/or a custodian of such a collection, you are invited to fill in one or both of two VERY SMALL questionnaires which are available at
