[Taxacom] Anyone has experience in using w3id.org for collection specimens as a purl.org alternative?

Since purl.org  is not working properly for some months now... looking for alternatives.

It seems w3id.org is more flexible but not as easy to maintain and to add new URLs as purl.org. I do not know if there are other feasible alternatives or if purl.org functionalities will be restored. Any information around these matters would be most welcome.
