...and a somewhat related bit come across as I was doing some specimens 
recently:

14 November 2014 - Canada: Ontario: Leeds County: Highway 401(S side), 
1.67 km S Yonge Mills. (25m waypoint), 31B/12, 44.50899N 75.83369W TIME: 
1639. AIR TEMP: -2°C, windy, sunny. HABITAT: sandy superhwy roadside 
below rockcut. OBSERVER: Frederick W. Schueler, Clayton Shearer. 
2014/345/j, Dyssodia papposa (Fetid Marigold) (Plant). 1/common herb, in 
fruit, specimen. WAYPT/040, green, sparsely fruiting, highly aromatic 
plants scattered along roadside for about 200 m. There's an amazing 
concentration of bladder bottles and drink cups and other rubbish in the 
ditch here, as if there were no garbage disposal facilities at the rest 
area the strewers are leaving. It's pretty clear that "sapiens" is 
retained as their specific epithet only because of nomenclatoral priority.
