Geoff,
I think you are being entirely reasonable. Journals going to the pay to
play mode will inevitably create a two tier publication system - those
researchers who have money and those who do not. The European J of
Entomology recently announced going electronic-only Open Access all for the
small author fee of 160 Euros. Anyone out there have some to spare?
