[Taxacom] Nanophyes vs Nanodes

I am working to catalog parts of our collection and I would appreciate some
help determining the proper generic name for this beetle group.

Nomina insecta nearctica (vol 1) lists the genus within Brentidae and on
page 62 it looks like this:

*Nanophyes Schonherr 1838 (Conserved ICZN 1526)*
*     Nanodes Schonherr 1825 Syn.*
     The list of synonyms continues

Nanodes canadenensis Brown 1944 (Nanophyes)

It looks like Nanophyes is a junior synonym, but has been conserved by the
ICZN. However, the species list that follows uses Nanodes as the generic
name and Nanophyes as the genus it was originally described in. However,
the heading format shows Nanophyes as the valid generic name.

I hope that I have clearly explained my confusion, at least enough for
someone to help set me strait.

Andy
