[Taxacom] Phycologia Europea I. Rhodophyta

I am pleased to announce the forthcoming publication of Phycologia Europaea
I. Rhodophyta that updates the Scandinavian taxonomic literature published
in 1996. The new edition is significantly enlarged including taxa from the
NE Atlantic, the Mediterranean, the Black and Caspian Seas, as also
Scandinavia and the Arctic.



The text is analytic compiling protologues, illustrations, and other
information from essential publications since Linné and up to the time of
Kylin.

It is synthetic grouping taxa based on the same type, and synoptic
summarizing for the first time the European rhodophyte taxa.

Chapters on early algal classifications and the roots of systematics are
included.



An early view, electronic copy is now released under certain premises.
