Dear Colleagues,
As from December 2013 the Museu de História Natural do Funchal has
introduced a new format for the journals Boletim do Museu de História
Natural do Funchal (formerly Boletim do Museu Municipal do Funchal) and
Bocagiana and we are pleased to announce that these publications are now
available on-line at <http://publications.cm-funchal.pt>
http://publications.cm-funchal.pt, on an open access platform.
Two reasons led us to take this move: increase the speed of publication and
the diffusion and to lower production costs. In view of the latter, there
will be no more automatic production of hard copies.
As each manuscript is published it will be available on line as a PDF file
at <http://publications.cm-funchal.pt> http://publications.cm-funchal.pt.
Each January all manuscripts published throughout the previous calendar year
will be available on a print-on-demand basis. Quotations can be obtained on
request to: <mailto:mmf.pubs at cm-funchal.pt> mmf.pubs at cm-funchal.pt.
Editorial policy of the Boletim do Museu de História Natural do Funchal
(ISSN 2183-279X) and Bocagiana (ISSN 2183-3141) remains the same. Both
magazines accept original manuscripts on all aspects of Natural History of
Macaronesia (Madeira, Azores, Canaries and Cape Verde Islands) and the
surrounding sea. Papers should report the results of original research
including bibliographies considered relevant for the area, and must not
previously have been published, or be under consideration for publication,
elsewhere.
