Well I'm going to disagree with both of you and go for syrphid larva, based mainly on the "tail", which seems to have the same structure to it as this one: http://somethingscrawlinginmyhair.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Eristalis.tenax_.larva_.full_.dorsal.with_.fingertip.jpg

I would disagree. There is little else this could be other than a
limacodid moth larva, and it is not terribly unlike our own native
Prolimacodes larvae (e.g. http://bugguide.net/node/view/393936/bgpage).
