Dear Taxacom colleagues,

for all the entomologists among you, this might be interesting (Donat Agosti wrote already friendly welcoming words on this in Dec) ... with the beginning of this year the Deutsche Entomologische Zeitschrift, one of the World's oldest international journals of systematic entomology, has been transferred to Pensoft. It offers a unique combination of advantages for the authors by...

* being an open access, high-quality forum to contribute to the documentation of insect species, their distribution, their properties, and their phylogenetic relationships
* publishing all articles under the Creative Commons license which means that they can be freely copied, downloaded, printed and distributed at no charge
* automatically disseminating the content in the web (EOL, SpeciesID, ZooBank etc.) as you maybe know it from ZooKeys and other Pensoft Journals
* having an impact factor (0.73)
* actively promoting articles to the benefit of the authors (press releases, social media, etc.)

FEES: Publication fee waivers are available thanks to the support of the Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin. Articles approved for publication within the yearly limit should not exceed 40 printed pages. Authors may opt, however, to cover open access fees, especially if these fees are supported by institutions or grants. This will free up publication fee waivers, helping the journal to publish additional valuable research. If accepted, manuscripts of authors who cover the open access fees may exceed the 40 page limit.
SCOPE: The DEZ publishes original research papers on the systematics, taxonomy, phylogeny, comparative morphology, and biogeography of insects.
ISSUES: 2 issues/year. The next issue will come out in May, manuscripts submitted in the next month have good chances being published there.

If you have any more questions I am happy to answer them.

Best regards,
Dominique Zimmermann
