[Taxacom] Cooler early Earth and life's origin

Dear All,                                             New evidence suggests that the very early Earth (4.4 billion years ago) was already cool enough to allow the formation of lakes (or oceans) and even early life.  This supports my view that the earliest life forms were either mesophilic or even cryophilic.   It has never made any sense to me that early life was extremophilic.  Not that it had to be Darwin's warm little pond, but even colder water might have been the environment in which life arose.
