[Taxacom] A general question

Gray designated a lot of type species, but if you have verified that Gray
doesn't designate a type, there is a type designated in Herrmannsen, 1852.
I don't know if anyone designated anything between Gray and Herrmannsen.
Herrmannsen's catalog of molluscan (sensu mid-1800's) genera has numerous
type designations as well as a number of invalid emendations and other
items of nomenclatural importance.

http://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/bibliography/10147#/summary is one BHL
entry for it; 1852 is the index, addenda, and corrigendum, which may not be
at that specific BHL address but should be available at least through
AnimalBase (or from me directly, if online isn't working)
