The Entomological Society of Canada is presently meeting in Guelph,
Ontario, Canada, http://www.uoguelph.ca/debu/esc-eso2013/esc-eso.html and
as I did last year, I've thrown together a real-time mashup of Twitter,
Global Names, and CrossRef web services. It adds a nice bit of context to
conference Tweets because it pulls out scientific names, places them in a
hierarchy, and searches for recent literature. This sort of capability
might be of interest at other conferences and I'd be happy to share the
code if anyone is interested.
