[Taxacom] Identity of a hoverfly

Hoverflies usually fool people into thinking that they are wasps. This wasp fooled a botanist into thinking it was a hoverfly pretending to be a wasp!! :)

It really helps to place something in the right group! Thanks to Doug Yanega the sand wasp appears to be Steniolia elegans J. Parker. Thanks to everyone for their comments, especially getting this into the correct order.

This is a bembicine crabronid in the genus Steniolia. It superficially
resembles S. duplicata, but the important diagnostic features are not
visible in these photos.
