[Taxacom] BHL new look revealed

The images are from various sources - BHL, Gallica, 'Madrid', some other European based digital archives and CyberLiber - my point was that it is not 'rocket since' to add a URL to a nomenclator and make this a clickable link on a web page and the mycological community has been 'contributing' already.

... and to IF I might add ... which already has links to the protologue for > 80,000 names for the benefit of mycologist (you know, those people who study the 'Forgotten Kingdom') world wide.

On Monday, the biodiversity heritage library <http://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/> has revealed its new look. Congratulations

As Rod in his blog <http://iphylo.blogspot.co.uk/2013/03/new-look-biodiversity-heritage-library.html> explains, one new feature is access to parts of the journals (the unit they serve), that is articles. A big step ahead. I hope <https://plus.google.com/u/0/115599971535973973155/posts/Ddxk49k4BwC> this is only the first step towards even more direct access to the treatments themselves, which would allow to link from IPNI or Zoobank directly to the protologs, and in general to first or redescriptions, as well as more efficient extraction of them and thus deal with the content many of us want. But this will need quiet some input from our side, but why not contribute for something that most of us just consume for free?

Donat
