Well, given that there is an issue here (or there wouldn't be a workshop about it), there is obviously a "pro-copyright everything faction" of some description out there, so it is an audacious attempt by them, whoever they are ...

Who/what is the "this" to which you refer above? The point of the
workshop I gather is to do some educating and to nut out the issue.
