According to our estate agent, a village requires: 1) a church, 2) a
shop, 3) a pub -- not of course in order of preference. 2 out of 3 won't do.
As our population remains constant (about 620), and the pub closed for
10 yrs and is now very healthily re-opened, and the shop is now still
closed (having re-opened for a bit), we are a now hamlet and no longer a
village. Fred, it take it you didn't mean 'formerly'?
Is there a biological parallel?
Sean
